Michelle Hathaway, LPN

Michelle Hathaway is my doctor’s Nurse, and she is the person who checks me in every time I visit the doctor. She always takes the time to understand what’s going on in my life and what medical concerns I have. She takes the time to ask me questions to make sure she understands what’s going on. She is very thorough. It’s obvious to me that she loves what she does, and she’s very good at it.

I have been struggling with a medical issue where I needed to see a specialist. Michelle helped my doctor see that my issue is not something they could resolve. Michelle stood up for me and my care when I didn’t know what to say. She has kept in touch with me to make sure I get and keep my appointments. She asks about the feedback I get because I know she cares what happens to me, and she wants her organization to do well. Michelle didn't do this because I asked her to, and I would have understood if she gave me information and passed me on to the next person to do their part. It is refreshing to find a special person who goes beyond what is required or expected for her patients. She is the reason that I continue to go back to the VA. If she cares about me this much, I should care as much as she does about what happens to me. I am so thankful to have her involved in my care, and I know I could not have anyone who cares more!
