Michelle Higgins-Abrago, RN

I am nominating Michelle for their outstanding contribution to the delivery of service in acute pediatrics outpatients. She is the heartbeat of the department and consistently goes above and beyond to enhance the patient experience. She is continuously looking for new ways to not only uphold the current standard but to also progress things forward.

In recent times, Michelle has supported the identified need for our patients with LD/Autism and other behavioral limitation to be welcome within Starlight. She led on putting in a sensory display which has received a lot of good feedback and aided in the great friends and family testing feedback we receive. As we know the NHS survives on the discretionary effort of colleagues, Michelle to her credit embodies and goes the extra mile to ensure we are working within an inclusive environment- Michelle consistently makes efforts to include all religious festivals and times of celebration within the department for both staff and patients alike.
