In August, we called ahead to let the Emergency Department know that our teenage daughter had overdosed on a headache medication. When we got there, Michelle and her team were ready and explained to us everything they were doing. My daughter had prolonged cardiac rhythms. As a nurse, I knew what that meant. Michelle never left our side. She was so meticulous in her cares, compassion, and her procedures. She was exemplary in a situation that we could have never predicted. As she was having irregular issues with her heart rhythm, she was always on top of it. When she stopped making urine, she was calling the doctor back to evaluate all her needs and was so compassionate while caring for her in a difficult situation. Our daughter was incoherent due to the overdose and Michelle was so kind the entire time. She is a great nurse and very compassionate. I believe our situation would have been worse than it was if it wasn’t for her diligence. She worked well with her team, us, and our daughter as we watched the worse moments in our lives play out.
