Michelle was not our nurse, but the nurse for the other patient in the room. When I arrived after my sibling was admitted, I was calming them down from an autistic meltdown and she was the first person I made eye contact with. She patiently listened to my distress and was excellent at comforting me. Tracked our nurse down and helped me connect with her, then stayed after our nurse left to make sure we were both going to be okay.

The trigger for the meltdown was our roommate’s TV being very loud on top of all the discomfort. She showed amazing tact and professionalism by casually asking if she could lower the volume of the TV when she checked on her patient. Her ability to take into account the comfort of both patients in the room, one not even hers, shows a lot of compassion and understanding for everyone involved.
