As my mom spent several days alone going through everything that she did (bilateral pulmonary embolisms, DVTs, pneumonia, and a liver mass that turned out to be a cancer diagnosis). We couldn't be there due to the coronavirus restrictions. Michelle worked to keep my mom's spirits up. She went above and beyond to provide comfort and compassion. She advocated with the doctors for my mom, when we couldn't. She spent extra time making sure she knew she wasn't alone. She cried with my family when we got the devastating news and to say she went above and beyond would be an understatement. If all nurses were like her, all patients and families would benefit greatly. She helped to make a terrible situation a bit less painful.
