She answered all our questions with such patience and thorough explanation and exhibited the utmost empathy with our situation.
Our daughter was transferred to the CHKD NICU from another hospital only hours after birth. It was so scary for us. Michelle provided such personalized care and made it so clear that she already knew our daughter and her case as well as her likes and dislikes as soon as her first shift with us. She worked with us for several more shifts over the course of the next week and a half.
She answered all our questions with such patience and thorough explanation and exhibited the utmost empathy with our situation. She was there with us when we got devastating news about our daughter’s condition and comforted us, answered our many difficult questions, and showed such loving care toward our sweet daughter. She always reassured us that our daughter’s stats on the machines were ok and comforted us with tissues, information about our daughter’s functioning, and provided us with anything we needed while we were there whether that be making sure we ate, to taking care of ourselves or helping us hold our daughter for the first time while she was hooked up to a multitude of machines. She even let me ‘feed’ her for the first time by allowing me to press the start button on her first feed through her NG tube.
Her thoughtfulness in providing us with memories like that will never be forgotten. While I wish we hadn’t had to meet due to our daughter being in the NICU, Michelle is exactly the kind, loving, knowledgeable person you want to take care of your child when you cannot. We felt so deeply cared for by Michelle and she was there for our family in our time of need!
