I’m 18 years old and had to go to the ER. I was nervous, scared, and alone. I had no one by my side—no family, no friends. I was only in the ER for about 4–5 hours, but that was the best care I’ve ever received in an ER or hospital. I am incredibly grateful for my nurse. Michelle knew I was nervous and talked to me to make me feel more comfortable. After I finished crying, Michelle stayed with me, and we talked about what makes me happy—my dogs. She shared her own photos and stories about her dogs, cheering me up. She’s an amazing nurse with great medical and patient skills. I had to get an IV for the first time, and I was worried. Michelle reassured me and talked me through it. I also needed to give a urine sample while having my IV in. When I returned, I noticed blood in the IV from not holding it up correctly, and I became anxious again. Michelle came in and gently let me know it was normal and not to worry. Michelle was amazing in her care, and I know any patient of hers is in good hands.
