She was so very kind, respectful, and compassionate for my dad in his final hours.
Michelle Landerer was the last nurse my sister and I spoke with prior to leaving the hospital. She was the nurse covering the night shift. She came in with another nurse who was also outstanding and had supported my dad for the last 2 days. Michelle came in to check on my dad, who was there for comfort care, as he approached his last day of life. She assured us that she had cared for him the night before and that she provided support to be sure he was comfortable and that she would be doing the same that night. She said she was treating him like she would her very own father, which meant the world to us, since we were struggling to watch him in this state. She assured us that he was receiving the same amount of care as any other patient on the unit and that she made sure he was moved regularly and applied lotion to his delicate skin for his comfort. She was so very kind, respectful, and compassionate for my dad in his final hours.
