My son was in the hospital for over a week. Although all the nurses were great, Michelle stood out. My son has severe anxiety and she helped him in so many ways. Always smiling, she stayed positive and helped not only my son feel comfortable but also myself. For example, he was scheduled for a PICC line. She explained the procedure simply, clearly, but most importantly positively. She also called the food staff without being asked when food was late. She would come into the room just to check on us or simply just to talk and make him smile. One day, she brought his IVs out on the patio so he could receive meds while still enjoying the fresh air after days of being in bed. She encouraged him to walk and I think her smile helped my son get better! She did so many nice things, Michelle definitely deserves the DAISY Award!
