July 2017 Honoree
michelle luellen, RN
A few years ago, my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. Due to her lung capacity, she was not able to have surgery, so she had the gamma knife radiation. Her nurse was Michelle. From the first meeting with the doctor and Michelle, she made us feel comfortable like mom was the only patient. She always answered any questions and got to know us, not as a patient but as a person. Since our first meeting, she has stayed on our journey. Unfortunately, the cancer started growing about a year after the radiation and we started chemo. She continues to seek out my mom, always asks about her and gives us advice and comfort to us.
Thank you, Michelle, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
