Michelle M Smith, RN

A patient came to the ED from the nursing home and after he was discharged, left his Bible. After working a long shift and realizing that there was no one to pick up the patient's Bible, Michelle took it upon herself to take it back to the patient at the nursing home after her shift. The patient was so grateful to receive his Bible back as it was his only and favorite book to read – it was a small act of kindness that had a huge impact on the patient.
