Oh Michelle, where to begin? Our lives changed drastically when I went into preterm labor and our son, B was born 7 weeks early. It was an incredibly scary and heartbreaking time for us. We were definitely in some uncharted territory. Then, along came Michelle. She was our light in a dark time in our lives. She is patient, understanding, kind, empathetic, and a million other wonderful qualities. Each time we saw Michelle’s name on the whiteboard, we knew we were going to have a good day. Since little B man is our first child, we were pretty clueless. In our defense, we thought we had a little more time to prepare. But each day, Michelle took time out of her busy day to teach us the skills to properly care for B. She is incredibly knowledgeable and exhibits joy in teaching others. Fast forward to today where I am sitting here on B’s NICU graduation day, 27 days after his birthday. I don’t know how we made it but one thing I am sure of is that Michelle made it a whole lot easier. I cannot thank her enough for the kindness she has shown my family. Michelle is a DAISY Nurse for going above and beyond for her patients every day. When you are with her, you can feel the true compassion and care she has for her patients and their family. We truly love Michelle and hope she gets the recognition that she deserves.
