My father came into Advent with some cardiac issues. After being in the ER, he was moved to 4N. On Wednesday, he has a cardiac cath. After the procedure, the doctor met with my father, my stepmother (who was a nurse many years ago), my wife, and me. After meeting with the doctor, we started walking back to recovery. While walking, my stepmom all of a sudden fell face first. A long story short, she ended up being admitted as well. Now we have 2 family members admitted at the same time. My father was worried about his wife and kept asking about her. He kept saying he wanted to see her and she in turn was asking about him. On Thursday, I asked his nurse, Michelle Negron, if he could see his wife. She said she would have to ask his doctor. She went the extra mile and did just that, and got the OK. Michelle then told my dad she had to take him for a chest Xray. Needless to say, he was not happy about another test. The family all went to wait. Liz didn't know what was going on. Michelle wheeled him into the room, and the look on their face was priceless. Michelle put smiles on everyone's faces and tears in their eyes. Michelle is a very sweet, compassionate, and caring person. I brought donuts for the entire 4N team as they were all amazing. Thank you for taking such good care of my parents and making this happen. Michelle Negron is great at communicating with patients and family and explaining in great detail. At such a young age, she exemplifies the true meaning of a DAISY Nurse.
