Michelle is a very attentive person. She is present in the conversation and addresses any concerns.
How to start? Michelle has been my mother’s nurse on several occasions. She has always been extremely attentive. On this occasion, I spoke with her about the concerns my brother, who is POA, made. Mom has a DNR, but J, my brother, wanted an attempt to be made to resuscitate her as long as she (mom) wasn’t on machines. I expressed concerns about what that would entail. Michelle explained about chest compression, etc. My brother didn’t totally understand that, and he also did not understand about medication.

J lives in FLA. I live with and take care of my mom. I asked if Michelle could explain these two points to my brother, as we were having a very heated discussion. Michelle explained it to him very well; he now understands that chest compressions on a 92-year-old woman who is in frail condition would probably not do well. Not even 5 minutes after she spoke to J, he told me that we would not be doing that to mom, and the DNR is just that. Also, he felt more confident about medication. Not that she gave medical advice, she just explained everything involved in a way that made everything beneficial to mom. So this made everything so easy, and we can give mom the care and comfort she needs.

Michelle is a very attentive person. She is present in the conversation and addresses any concerns. I love the way she not only focuses on the patient but the family so we can make informed decisions. She is a definite asset to the hospital and community.
