April 2024 Honoree
Michelle Orzehoski, MSN RN-BC
In her first year at JCN, she was course lead for NU 497, running a very organized course, keeping the students informed with clear guidelines, and helping implement rubrics for student assignments. The most important reason she deserves the award is that she performed CPR on a coding student and achieved ROSC. She is a perfect example of a team player and exemplary nurse.
***
This professor was able to respond to a medical emergency involving a fellow student. She started compressions on a student who was found pulseless outside of our building. Professor O and Dr. Mook, along with the help of students and bystanders, were able to get ROSC. Without Professor O, this student surely would have died. Her calm demeanor and quick thinking taught us all what it takes to be a nurse in an emergency situation.
