We had a patient who was terminally ill, they were admitted knowing they would not be released. That patient's last dying wish was to marry his girlfriend. The nurses that day, one in particular, Michelle Parker, made his wish come true. With her own money, she supplied a personalized cake, sparkling "champagne", balloons, and a bouquet of flowers for the bride. The nurses hand made just married signs and contacted the Chaplin to officiate the ceremony. It was a heartwarming ceremony, there was not a dry eye in the room.
Michelle is an amazing nurse and teammate! She is someone who you want taking care of your loved one and standing by your side when stuff is going south with a patient. I often look to her for guidance and consider her a role model. Michelle is a true patient advocate, she always puts the patients needs first.
