Pepper showed me true support and compassion as a leader during a horrible day. It was one of those days where I felt like I couldn't ever get on top of my work and I constantly felt like I was drowning. I felt like I was failing to not only take care of my patients but failing as a valuable team member/coworker since I was constantly asking my coworkers for help. At one point during the shift, I was on the verge of a breakdown and I approached Pepper to seek guidance. After telling her how I felt I was failing, she recognized the fact that I was working as hard as I could and she reassured me that she would help support me to get through the rest of my shift. She was the ray of light shining at the end of a long dark "nursing shift" tunnel. Pepper's ability to support the nurses she works with makes her such a valuable leader in a profession that can be so exhausting. I will never forget the kindness she gave me that day and I feel blessed to have her as a leader.

Thank you, Michelle (Pepper), for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
