Michelle always takes her time and comforts L and explains everything going on with our situation and care very well.
My 21-year-old daughter L was first diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and cared for in a very serious state at Morristown Medical Center, where she was there for 13 agonizing days. Once they stabilized her collapsed lung, chronic fevers, high heart rate, and anemic state, we entered into her chemo program through the Hackettstown Medical Center facility near our home and under the continued care of Advanced Care Oncology & Hematology Associates.
It has been quite an overwhelming and scary experience for my daughter and the rest of our family. It is never fun going to doctors and hospitals, but even worse when you have cancer.
The main reason I am writing to you is that I wanted to express sincere thanks and put forward a few names of those that have continued to go above and beyond in helping L get well, and making the entire experience quite better than we ever imagined.
Michelle Perkalis directly cares for L as her nurse during infusions of chemo. Michelle always takes her time and comforts L and explains everything going on with our situation and care very well. She is the epitome of greatness in care in the infusion center. When things were moved around, and your staff came in on holiday to help L and make sure she had treatment, Michelle and others were right there and happy to do so. L always feels so well cared for and taken care of and Michelle and others on staff (not sure everyone's names) are a representation of excellence.
All of these people on your team are true brand ambassadors for Atlantic Health System, and you should be as proud as I am to know them and work with them. I hope the recognition I am giving them along with L helps you hear back about experiences that are important and notable and each of them should receive recognition for their individual and team EXCELLENCE.
Thank you all for making a horrible and worst time of my life worrying about my daughter much easier to bear and focus on hope and her future when she is healed than on day-to-day issues of the care.
Healthcare is a tough business, and right now especially with COVID-19 challenges, people like yourselves are truly heroes for life. I thank you and am proud to be in the presence and care of heroes like yourselves.
