Two weeks ago today, our family was blessed to have Michelle as my father-in-law's nurse. As the day began, little did we know how deeply she was going to impact the path we were going to follow over the next two days. Michelle gently prepared us to make difficult decisions.
It was so touching to watch as she pulled a chair up to the bedside and leaned in close as she held his hand and talked to him about the difficult decisions he and we all needed to make. Watching her, it was like she was talking her own family member through the process. She then facilitated us as a family to be able to talk about our feelings and concerns, and as she sat there, she shared and cried with us as if she had known us forever instead of a few short hours.
She is the epitome of a nurse. She did her "tasks" but went far above by meeting the emotional needs of the journey that we were embarking on. Thank you for preparing us for that journey. You will never be forgotten and will forever be a part of our family's memories.
