From the very first time I went into the hospital, my wife had asked to stay. We asked the charge nurse for a reclining chair and she said she would get one. We never got it. Then when Michelle came on duty, we asked again. She also said she would get one. We thought "Oh, yeah, nothing is going to happen". But within 15 minutes, Michelle brought the chair in the room. After my surgery, I stayed one night in ICU, so when I got back to the 3rd floor, my wife's chair was gone. But once again Michelle came through and the reclining chair reappeared. All of the nurses were nice, but Michelle led the bandwagon.
When I had questions or concerns or when I felt bad, she cheered me up. She made my whole stay better. She always made time for us. I was depressed many times during my stay because I was so sick. I wouldn't have made it without her. She bent over backward and wouldn't let me stay down. That made a big impact. If there was anything I ever needed, she was there. She made sure my wife had something to eat. She even visited me on her day off to see how I was doing. Once during my stay, I was moved to the 2nd floor for one day and when I was moved back to the 3rd floor I was in a smaller room. Michelle arranged to move me to a larger room, so we would be more comfortable. She noticed that the bed I had was too short and arranged to get me a longer bed. The list could go on and on of the many things she did for us.
When she was a charge nurse she pushed me out to the car; instead of asking someone else to do it. We both are active in our churches and we shared many stories about our Christian faith. She is one of God's Angels.
