Michelle made sure his wife could see the exact room and feel closer to him and us.
I have the pleasure to work with Michelle; she always works hard to help coworkers and patients but this time an action of kindness and love made a huge difference not only for a particular family but also for the staff that worked with her one day!
The patient had suffered a devastating stroke and came in for an additional procedure. His rapid subtle decline and change of condition were recognized by Michelle even though she was busy with another patient. Michelle took care of both her patients ensuring they received the right care at the right time, at the same time. She was helping her patient's wife find the ICU location with a heart in the window. This patient's wife will spend most of the day in the hospital parking lot, but thanks to the collaboration with other nurses, Michelle made sure his wife could see the exact room and feel closer to him and us. She reminded me that every action we take as nurses impact so many people in many different ways.
