As a senior nursing student about to graduate in May with my RN, I can wholeheartedly say Michelle is the type of nurse one can only hope to become. As a granddaughter watching her grandmother slowly slip away. Michelle was a ray of light and a beacon of hope each and every time she walked into the room. She was comforting, genuine, and so compassionate. These qualities cannot be taught in a classroom. They are qualities that one can only hope to possess.

I approached Michelle, asking if there was someone I could tell about how wonderful she was. Then I found out about this award! Michelle is most deserving of this award. My mother was in the ICU and Michelle cared for her like she was her own mother. She was so compassionate and attentive. Michelle is very intelligent and wonderful at what she does. Also, Michelle was so warm and comforting to all of the family members. She became our best friend. We all loved her! Michelle went beyond the normal duties of a nurse. She became part of the family. She is so deserving of The DAISY Award.

My mother-in-law recently experienced a COPD exacerbation requiring ICU management, treatment with BiPap and eventual transition to hospice services for the end of life care. During her ICU stay, we were blessed to meet Michelle. As a family dealing with our loved one's end-stage disease, we were beyond comforted by her confidence, competence, and overwhelming compassion. As an ICU nurse myself for 30+years, I know firsthand how valuable her traits are to patients and families. She is an undeniable asset to your establishment and exemplifies the meaning of making the Ordinary-Extra-Ordinary. She is absolutely deserving of your DAISY Award Recognition.

Michelle attended to my mother. It was a very difficult time for us. She was extremely attentive to mom, carefully explaining what she was doing and why. She also took the time to talk with all the visiting family members and gave an update on what was going on. Michelle was patient with our questions and gave clear knowledgeable answers. She was so empathetic and wonderful. Everyone felt like her best friend. Mom was blessed to have this angel care for her.
