August 2024 Honoree
Michelle Vrooman, RN
Michelle Vrooman was floated to the 4th floor when my dad came from the ER. He had been complaining of pain for several hours. Many other nurses had evaluated him, but Michelle immediately knew what pain was being caused. Even though it was a change of shift, she immediately went and got the supplies to flush the Foley. Not only was the Foley colored, but it was also in the wrong place. Once Michelle finished, my 83-year-old dad felt immediate relief. He had not slept in days as he was in a CHF exacerbation. He fell asleep almost instantly and has improved. Michelle explained everything to us and our dad, showing us such compassion. I am also a nurse and know a good nurse when I see one. Michelle is knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and technically sound. Oneida is fortunate to have her on staff. Please extend our deepest gratitude to Michelle.
Thank you, Michelle, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
