By day one and two I was already frustrated with what seemed to be my plight, but Michelle leaned down and whispered to me, "Now you are going to have to get tough. You are the one who can make this happen." She gave me the strength to start my fight.
During my month-long stay at Sentara, Michelle consistently reminded me to be a warrior. She pushed me when I needed extra motivation and helped console me when I needed that too.
On the day I was discharged, Michelle painstakingly reviewed the discharge orders so I would know what to do next and she made sure I got in the car safely. She even called me a few minutes later to tell me she had found something I left behind and then met me downstairs to give it to me.
Now, two months later, my PT/OT team are in awe of my recovery; I'm now walking without a cane and I attribute this to the motivating start I received from Michelle. She is a true DAISY Nurse.
