I would like to nominate Michi Butler for always going above and beyond for her patients. She is a strong advocate and never backs down from a challenging scenario. She has recently been training new staff members, filling in for charge nurse, helping with the LPN onboarding process, and so much more. Michi does all of this while maintaining such a positive attitude. This is evident in the culture when Michi is working. It never seems like a task will be too big for the team when Michi is working. Today, this was ever so apparent with Michi. On the Medical unit at HH, we had a very upset family and patient. With no judgment, Michi stepped up to the plate and took the concerns very seriously. The escalation to the chain of command was quick, and the patient/family had the answers they needed in no time. Michi made this family feel supported and heard only hours into her shift. Nevertheless, Michi was also training one of our new staff RN on an extra shift….and it was the patient's BIRTHDAY! After all the concerns were handled, Michi ran down to the gift garden and bought flowers, a balloon, and a card. She had everyone sign the card and gathered everyone to the room to sing Happy Birthday! The patient was smiling soooooo big; it was great! Way to GO, Michi, for making a difficult situation so much better for everyone!! Thanks for all you do Michi.
