October 2024 Honoree
Mikaela Montague, BSN, RN
She was my dad’s nurse. On Friday, my mother and I came up to visit, and I explained that my mother has dementia and might become a handful. She tends to wander, so we do not let her come up to his room alone. It seemed ok to leave her in the room while I went to the waiting room to do some work. My mother came to the waiting room to let me know the doctor was there to speak to us, I hurried so I would not miss anything. Mikaela followed her to ensure she got back safely and packed up all my belongings so I could meet the doctor. My father was her patient, but she treated all of us so kindly. We are so grateful to have such a kind nurse when we were under so much stress.
Thank you, Mikaela, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
