Mikayla Houseman, RN

This RN was a new grad when she started in the ICU.  She has now blossomed into a great team leader, mentor, and team player.  She goes above and beyond for her patients, whether it’s braiding their knotted hair after detangling it for hours or printing out specific education.  

This RN brought a beautiful tradition to our unit.  When a patient passes, we create an eternal memory for the family by placing a heart rhythm strip, the patient’s actual rhythm, in an old Protonix bottle that hangs like a Christmas ornament and gives it to the family.  It has made a tremendously good impact on the patient’s family in mourning.
