December 2023 Honoree
Mikayla Landowski, RN
When I got here, I was suicidal and having a bipolar episode. She sat down with me and explained all of my medications to me. Then she explained all of the PRNs that might be helpful to me. I was lonely the first day that she did my vitals, so she sat with me and made me feel like I wasn’t alone. When my wife called concerned, she helped her understand and then gave me the option if I wanted to talk with her or not. She was understanding and fostered a relationship of trust in a situation in which I was scared. She approached me with kindness and empathy every day I was here. Everyone that had her [as a nurse] also noted the same thing. As far as we are concerned, she is a vital part of floor 3C’s recovery. Her kindness, knowledge, and empathy are unmatched.
Thank you, Mikayla, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
