After what had already been a very long day, at 2100 the IR crew was called upon to assist Dr. P with her patient who was extremely ill with an active GI bleed. The patient was quite unstable, requiring multiple blood product infusions, and ultimately an emergent intubation in the angio suite. Even though the patient was intubated, he was alert and oriented and was very afraid. Mike Conley was caring for our patient; he was amazing in his compassion for this patient and his ability to multitask at the same time as he was offering comforting words to his extremely fearful patient. All in all, this patient had a great outcome and I am so appreciative of all the thoughtful, caring and professional co-workers I have at Sierra Vista.
