Mike takes his job very seriously and deeply cares about his patients and their families. I thank God for people like Mike.
Mike, I've said it before, but I'll say it again- THANK YOU for being so wonderful with my care at KH. From coming to meet me beforehand and being by my side during, and checking on me after- I'm so grateful you were there during a very scary surgery/recovery. Our accident and the events that followed were by far the hardest things we have faced. Your calming presence and reassurance made it all so much more tolerable. Again, I'm fairly certain my daddy sent you my way. "Thank you" does not even feel like enough but I appreciate the ability to keep in touch! I think about you all at KH every day and am so grateful to have been in your care.

My wife, S, who was 41 had complete heart failure due to complications from a hysterectomy. Mike was part of the emergency heart team that came in the middle of the night to do surgery and try to find out what was going on. I was alone in the dark waiting room throughout the night waiting for the doctors to come and give me updates on what was going on and Mike took it upon himself to come out when he could and check in on me. I would see Mike over the next few days while my wife was in the ICU, and he would constantly come and check in on me and my wife. I gave Mike my number and even after my wife was transferred to another hospital in Oregon. He would check in and pray for me. Mike was a huge source of comfort, and even though I lost my wife, I gained a new friend in Mike. Mike takes his job very seriously and deeply cares about his patients and their families. I thank God for people like Mike.

I have known Mike since High school, he has always been a compassionate, caring person who always goes out of his way to help others. Both my husband and I received medical care while Mike was working at Kootenai Health. He made sure while my husband was in surgery he was there and would come out and let me know how he was doing.  He would also come in after the surgeries and make sure my husband got the best care. He would even take time to "talk me down" when the stress of my husband's surgery went bad and there were life-threatening complications. He takes time to be there for his patients and their families to make sure everyone is ok.  When I had an issue with my pacemaker placement and needed to get ahold of my care team at the ER, Mike made sure I had the right team to care for my needs and was there to talk to my husband on the phone to make sure he was ok.  Again, Mike is the most compassionate and caring Nurse we know.

Mike made sure I had the very best team for my surgery in December of 2022. He always goes out of his way to care for and help not only his patient but their family members as well.
