Mikel L. Kendrick, RN

Mikel showed me true compassion at a time when I was at my most vulnerable. He listened to my story, validated my emotions, and helped me formulate strategies for managing them in healthy ways. I'm not fully healed yet, but Mikel taught me ways to practice self-compassion and gratitude that will keep me on the path to happiness and fulfillment. Mikel has a gift for nursing. He is empathic, jovial, gentle, approachable, nurturing, and genuine. He immediately makes you feel safe and loved in his presence. It was apparent that not only patients but also staff were at ease around him and that he fostered an environment of respect, inclusion, and joy. I hope Mikel continues in his nursing career because I have no doubt that he will make a positive impact on the lives of every patient in his care. I am eternally grateful for him. He deserves this recognition if only to realize that his dedication, approach, and intention are making a monumental difference in this world. He is bringing light into darkness.
