I am writing to recognize an outstanding nurse in the outpatient surgery department. I was having ankle surgery. I checked in at 2 pm but was delayed due to an emergency so I was there until around 10 pm. Miki was so kind and treated me like I was her own family. She got me warm blankets without me even asking, she got me a pillow and lowered my bed to make me more comfortable. She even texted my husband keeping him updated on the delay so he wouldn't worry.
Since we were running so late the pharmacy would be closed, so Miki had the doctor send in my order for my post-surgery meds and she even went and picked them up for him so I'd have them and texted him so that he'd know she took care of it for him. He was so appreciative. Then she found out the pills were $416.00 so she researched and found a coupon and we ended up, thanks to her going the extra mile, only paying $4.02. We really appreciated that. How many nurses do that? The pills said to take half a pill, so she even cut them all in half for me. Miki went so far above and beyond in everything she did. She really should be training nurses. I have never had such great care. She is such a caring person. You can tell she really enjoys her job.
