Mikie Simonson, Associates Degree in Nursing
I am writing to formally recognize Mickie Simonson for the extraordinary care she provided to my husband, B, and me.
Being a caregiver is overwhelming, but Mickie Simonson, RN, made me a better one. When I was exhausted, she brought me a baby monitor and a shoulder sensor pad. This simple, thoughtful act allowed me to get the sleep I desperately needed, knowing I would be alerted if B tried to move or was at risk of falling.
Beyond the equipment, she was a true teacher. She meticulously explained every medication, showing me exactly how and when to dispense them. She also walked me through the difficult do's and don'ts for when B passed away, removing the fear of the unknown during my time of grief.
Her kindness and thoughtfulness were a light for our family. She didn't just do her job; she cared for our souls.
