Mildred has a way with patients that convinces them to do the things needed to get better.
Mildred is the nurse you would want to take care of you and your family. Her many years of experience are invaluable to her patients. She is so generous and caring. I mentioned to her once that I liked her hand sanitizer holder on her bag and immediately, she took it off and gave it to me.
She comes in and works extra when we are short-staffed. She takes care to assure her patients are comfortable before she leaves their room. She places that extra pillow or warm blanket. She provides the patients with compassionate care at every encounter. Mildred always focuses on following policy and doing the right thing for the patients. She stays current with patient conditions and care. She does not hesitate to bring forward concerns or share information with teammates. She has a way with patients that convinces them to do the things needed to get better.
She always contributes to projects the team is working on. At Christmas, she does not just buy a gift for the Angel Tree. She chooses at least 2 children to buy completely for and has shared another with someone who maybe could not afford to meet all the requests on the tag.
She is active on committees within the hospital. She is an active member of her Sorority and other professional nursing organizations. She enjoys nursing conferences and shares her knowledge with others. I cannot begin to say how many times I have seen her put others before herself. She is a gift to all of those around her.
