July 2018 Honoree
mildred villasenor, RN
I have had Millie as a nurse several times at SCC. Uniformly she is efficient, without any briskness or regimentation.
Millie really does her job well while making one feel comfortable. She talks about things other than what is coming. A real plus in taking one's mind off the current situation. She has a real knack for engaging patients on a personal level.
She also does kind things that she need not do. For example, the blanket heater was broken in pre-op so she went to another unit to get a warm blanket for me.
The day following my surgery she called to see if I was alright. These touches make one feel that there is truly someone who cares on her "team". Millie is the epitome of a kind, generous, competent, and efficient nurse.
While I do not want a return visit, I know I will be in good hands with her should happen.

Thank you, Mildred, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
