I was admitted to the emergency room at Miriam Hospital for chest pains and discomfort, eventually spending two days in the PC. It is my absolute honor to nominate my nurse for the DAISY Award. This nurse possesses the rare gift of balancing vast clinical knowledge with deep, intuitive empathy. From the moment they greeted me, their compassion turned a frightening experience into a manageable one. They didn't just attend to my medical needs; they built trust by truly listening to my concerns. We connected personally through stories about our families and children, which gave me comfort and ease. Their professional competency is noticeable and appreciated. Having been at the Miriam since the 1990s, their mastery of the hospital system and procedures was evident. What sets this nurse apart is their ability to blend decades of experience with a genuine personal touch. They explained the why behind every treatment with thoroughness and accuracy, often anticipating my questions before I could even voice them. If they didn't have an immediate answer, this nurse sought it out instantly, and I felt respected and heard. I was confident I was getting the best care possible. This nurse didn't just treat a condition; They cared for a patient with dignity and respect. Perhaps most importantly, this nurse was kind yet firm. When I insisted on doing things that would have hindered my recovery, they stepped in with professional authority and grace, prioritizing my health.

Thank you, Milena, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
