Milica Milicevic, RN

Recently, Milica was asked to help with a 57-year-old, Bosnian patient. The patient didn’t speak English and was obviously scared and skittish. Milica stepped up and explained everything from the tests and procedures to discharge. The patient was very grateful and it was clear that Milica’s help made a huge difference in the patient’s care. Milica was still in the patient’s room 40 minutes after her shift ended because the patient enjoyed her company so much! It was stated in her nomination, “Milica can connect and communicate with patients efficiently. She is also always giving her best despite being fatigued or overwhelmed. She also inspires techs, new nurses, and staff in our unit. We have a PCA that stated that she would like Milica to precept her when she becomes a nurse! Whether it may be techs, nurses, and/or new staff, everyone in the department goes to her for questions. The new nurses in the unit and even the staff that has been there for a long time lean on her for support. She always ensures that her colleagues have the support, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform their duties. She goes above and beyond not only for her patients, coworkers but also the community.”
