As a bystander, you would have never guessed that Millie had not encountered this before because of her demeanor and skill.
Millie just recently returned from maternity leave and had just recently been off orientation prior to her leave. She had her first C-section patient when she returned from leave and things didn’t go as well as they could have; however, Millie kept calm, continued to reassure the patient and her husband, and ultimately had a wonderful outcome. She showed compassion by reassuring and comforting her patient and husband, integrity by following proper procedures and asking questions, excellence by continuing to stay calm and collected and doing what needed to be done in the situation, and collaboration by continuing to ask questions, keeping providers up to date on the situation, utilizing her co-workers' expertise to assist in the difficult situation and as well as collaboration with the OR staff. Overall Millie is an excellent nurse and I am grateful that we have such a great nurse in our department! She is truly a patient advocate and a wonderful person!

Millie Hall is an exceptional nurse. She is recently off her orientation and has been an integral part of this team. She recently had a situation where the patient was losing blood and fast. She had never experienced this before and this was all very new. As a bystander, you would have never guessed that Millie had not encountered this before because of her demeanor and skill. She took on this challenge and was hanging blood rapidly, administering medications, and continuing to keep the patient and family aware of what was all taking place. She was calm and was able to get the patient to surgery where she received an emergency procedure. The patient recovered and was able to go home in the next few days.

Millie handled this in a professional manner and was able to effectively work together as a team. She took charge of her patient and her care and made an amazing difference in this patient’s life. The staff she works with are so very grateful to have her on our team. She is such a joy to work with and is a great help when we need it. She is picking up shifts at another campus to help with their staffing issues as well. She has a family at home and still finds time to be an amazing nurse for us when we need her and when her patients need her.
