Milly took the time to pay her respects the night of our mom’s calling hours.
My mom was a patient at Griffin Hospital for 9 days before passing away in Accent Hospice Care. Prior to my mom's moving to Hospice Care, Milly was her nurse. My mom suffered from Terminal Agitation and Delirium, in addition to Encephalopathy. It was an emotional and difficult time for our mom and family. Milly introduced herself and immediately exhibited compassion and empathy for our mom and for her family. She comforted us as we prepared for the inevitable. She cared for my mom as if she were part of her family. She helped us understand what was happening and comforted us. Her professionalism was exemplary, and her dedication and love for her work were profound. She took my mom to her Hospice room and wrote on the white board, “God Bless A .” Milly and I spoke of our faith and how it has carried us through our lives. Milly took the time to pay her respects the night of our mom’s calling hours. We have never met a nurse who exemplified PETALS as Milly did. She is exceptional in so many ways. We observed the respect she received from her colleagues. It is an honor and a privilege to have met Milly as a nurse and a person. She brought dignity, respect, and care to my mom while she suffered. She brought us comfort, empathy, and concern.
