Milton is a constant bright spot on the unit for both our patients and staff. As a charge nurse, Milton provides guidance and direction for the unit, and manages the chaos with ease. He is always willing to serve as a resource to help his peers with difficult lab draws or procedures. He consistently receives praise from families for his ability to truly connect with his patients.

Milton showed amazing concern and compassion for a patient's family when the patient was being coded in the ICU. Milton was at the bedside for over an hour to support the patient's mother while the ICU doctors and nurses worked the code. The code was difficult and traumatic but Milton continues to offer his suppport to the patient's mother.

Milton demonstrated compassion and concern for the family of one of our oncology patients. He was supportive during one of the most difficult times for a family and I think this deserves the utmost praise. I cannot think of a more deserving nurse to be honored with the DAISY Award!
