All my worries would go out the window when she would come into the room. NICU babies NEED a nurse like Mimi because she will fight for her babies.
Mimi is by far one of the BEST nurses in the NICU that SMH has to offer. She would go out of her way to make sure I knew my baby was good and healthy. Mimi would assure me every day that this would all pass. Having a baby in the NICU is a hard thing for a parent. I wish all parents would have a nurse like Mimi. All my worries would go out the window when she would come into the room. NICU babies NEED a nurse like Mimi because she will fight for her babies. She speaks up and lets the doctors know what she believes the baby needs. I know doctors take what parents say into consideration, but I know that what the nurse says matters that much more. I would nominate Mimi over and over again.

Mimi has been a life support for me and my family. She has been there not only to care for my granddaughter but for my daughter and husband as first-time parents. They arrived completely overwhelmed, exhausted with little hope. Mimi was there to help guide them and emotionally help and motivate them. Mimi has gone out of her way to make sure they all have been cared for. As a parent, you feel uneasy trusting someone, anyone with your newborn, and Mimi put that unrest at ease. I can with my eyes close assure you that when Mimi was there my granddaughter was cared for as if she was the mother. I have never met any nurse with that much love and dedication. We love you!

Mimi is more than a nurse; she is a hero. She was there for my daughter, granddaughter, and son-in-law during these difficult times. We felt at ease to have Mimi caring for our family. She was very attentive, caring, and full of patience. These are very hard times, especially for new parents. The feeling of hopelessness gets to you when you see your firstborn lying there in a NICU bed. Mimi was there to offer hope and listen. She explained how my granddaughter was doing in lay terms so that anyone could understand. She has over-exceeded our expectations. She was not only there to offer the utmost care for my granddaughter but there to support my family. Without a doubt, I have never met a more professional, heartfelt, loving person that truly loves her job!

My baby niece was taken from her mother’s arms just minutes after seeing her for the first time. She had to be taken to surgery. My sister and brother-in-law as first-time parents were devastated. Everything had seemed like a nightmare until we were blessed with Mimi. There is not one family member that does not know her name or efforts that made all the difference in both the baby’s and our family’s lives. She gave hope and clarity where there was little. She offered a smile and warm words when everything felt cold. She was positive and she made sure it was contagious. She made us smile and feel at ease by just encouraging my sister in one of the most difficult moments of her life. She wasn’t just by the book; she was human, and it showed.
