She always entered my husband's room with a smile on her face and a personality that filled the room. She showed a genuine concern for both her patient as well as family members. Her position as my husband's wound care nurse was so professional, since the issue he was dealing with was in the groin and a very personal area to expose to anyone. She handled the care of his wound as well as his need for discreet exposure to the area. When asked questions she explained things in a manner that not only he understood but I did as well. Her knowledge of caring for a wound as well as understanding the patient's fears and concerns were unbelievable. She had such a way about putting fears at rest. What I appreciated most was how she interacted with other professionals in their fields and was always willing to seek out opinion of those professionals who were also working with my husband and the number of issues he was going through. She worked closely with the team of professionals and discussed different alternatives as to what was the best method of treatment to help in the healing process. She definitely had respect from her peers as well as others in the field of caring for patients. When it came time for release from the hospital, Mindy had gone over with me the steps I needed to perform in order to help care for the wound once we got home. She has followed up with us and whenever I have had questions she responds to my calls and puts me at ease as to my role in caring for my husband's wound.I felt she was genuine in her concerns to his wellbeing and always left the room making not only her patient feeling positive but the family as well. I saw this young lady go tirelessly from patient to patient, each time giving comfort and understanding of the process for a wound to heal. She has a way of brightening a person's day just by walking in the room and lifts the fears of patient and family members.
