This past Sunday night, Stepdown was extremely busy. We were very short-staffed and there were times with no one at the desk to answer call lights, the phone or watch the monitor. I came out of a patient's room and saw Mindy sitting out our call light, the Stepdown phone in one hand, her Supervisor phone in the other, with her snapshot pulled up trying to work on it all while watching the monitor. She wasn't asked to come and help, she just did because she is that kind of person: caring, supportive and concerned for our staff and the patients' safety. She is always checking on us, putting out fires, and going above and beyond helping us and helping the patients. It's not uncommon to see her helping out by bringing a patient a snack, answering the call light, or helping transport someone off the floor, just to name a few things. She always puts more on herself so that we can have a better night. We're blessed to have her as one of our amazing House Supervisors. Thank you!
