My grandmother was sent to BDMC and Mindy cared for her more than once, along with Yvonne as charge nurse. She was very caring and attentive to her confusion and us not being there all the time. We had to go home and Mindy called us many times to keep us informed about her care along with advocating for us with the doctors. She put us in contact with the care coordinator and stayed in the room with her to help keep her calm and make sure she got her meds. Then, on the day we were getting discharged, we noticed her mental status changing severely. She was in and out and Mindy put a stop to the discharge and spoke with the doctor because there was no way we could take care of her at home with her mental status and weakness. She helped us get a better discharge plan in order and made sure we had her wishes of DNR put into effect. Yvonne sat and talked to her about home and the lake to try to get her oriented. They made us feel comfortable enough to leave our confused loved one in their care. My grandfather is 86 and she is 89. I thank Mindy and Yvonne for their true compassion, and love for what they do. They helped us get through this stressful time. Thank you.
