Mindy represents home care in the Regional Infection Control Committee and brings valuable insight to the home care group that ultimately benefits the patients and the communities we serve.
Mindy Prestia, Regional Director for Home Health, and Hospice - Quality is a true representation of a nurse leader that fosters a caring culture and elevates the nursing practice for home care in Northern California. Mindy leads home health and hospice regional policy and procedure meetings that has representatives from a diverse background and disciplines across home care. While differences in thoughts or opinions exist, Mindy maintains an environment of compassion and mutual respect that ultimately elevates the practice in home care, ensures compliance with regulations, and promotes patient/employee safety. Mindy is well responsive to inquiries, discussions, and does this with utmost sincerity. I appreciate that even with everything that is expected in her role, I know that I have the support when I need it.

Mindy is an advocate and an ally in home care making sure home care has representation in regional program that affects our patient population. An example is the regional heart failure education roll-out. This is an important part of the continuum, and having home care represented benefited the patients and caregivers across Northern California for consistency in education and understanding of the condition, especially when they return home and reduce readmission. As a regional director for Quality, Mindy ensures that the quality of care for home health and hospice is maintained. One of evidence of this is the infection control compliance rate of home care agencies across Northern California. Mindy works with home care agencies, identifies opportunities, and develops action plans when infection control data is below expectation.

Mindy represents home care in the Regional Infection Control Committee and brings valuable insight to the home care group that ultimately benefits the patients and the communities we serve. There is a lot more that Mindy does that makes her deserve the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. I know that Northern California Home Health and Hospice is extremely fortunate to have Mindy's leadership. Thank you.
