I had a large hematoma on my right hand and another large bruise on my inner arm. They couldn't get an IV started. My anxiety was pretty high. Mindy walked in and talked to me calmly. She numbed my arm so I could hardly feel it. She continued to talk to me. She was so kind and caring.
Mindy, I think you rock. Keep caring for people. You're good at it.

Often one has a medical test and can be anxious, but Mindy shows her passion for patients naturally without trying. She exudes calmness and provides the empathy needed when a patient feels at risk or uneasy. The key is genuine empathy.
She made me feel at ease and it was easy for me to trust her integrity. I always dread having an IV started and this one went in like silk and was taped in place so efficiently. It is obvious that caring for patients is number one above her own needs.
The procedure was done and over with and Mindy was there when I was sedated and there when I woke up, it meant a lot to me to feel safe and that she advocated and protected me when I didn't have my faculties to protect myself.
She also touched base with me the next day and it was the true empathy that mattered to me. Mindy anticipates needs, therefore, you don't even have to ask for a thing. Mindy is worthy of recognition and is a role model for nursing.
