The patient was admitted with pain from an infected shoulder. He had been a patient in the ED and then moved to 1600 where he met and was cared for by Miranda Cariaga. I happened to get into his room to talk with him and his family the following morning. He told me he felt she saved his life - she stayed with them for hours as he received fluids and antibiotics. He could not say enough about how absolutely wonderful she was. "I will never forget her!" He had been afraid and she was amazing.
