Miranda Conrad, RN

A newer nurse, Miranda Conrad, demonstrated exceptional composure and patient advocacy during a critical situation when a post-op patient arrived from PACU showing signs of respiratory distress. Miranda quickly recognized the seriousness of the condition and initiated a rapid response, helping to mobilize the team and ensure the surgeon was at the bedside promptly. She went above and beyond by contacting the chaplain for family support and, once the patient was stabilized and returned to surgery, took the time to comfort and inform the family. Her compassion and communication made a lasting impression, as noted in a heartfelt card from the patient’s family praising her professionalism and care.
