Miranda truly went above and beyond during my labor. She came on shift with a positive attitude and started by making a personal connection with my husband and myself. Miranda helped assist with my concerns and answer any questions as they arise especially due to the unexpected early delivery due to preeclampsia. When my baby and I had changes in our vital signs, Miranda was quick to act to get help and start on her own but was able to keep a calm demeanor while she did so. Miranda made sure during this time not only was I reassured, but my husband’s fears were calmed. She advocated for items and interventions needed to ensure my baby and I were safe. Miranda stayed over her shift to help support me through my difficult time with getting my epidural placed. Miranda helped get assistance to increase my blood pressure to be able to receive the epidural and let me hold on to her to remain still during the procedure. She spoke words of affirmation and distracted me from the pain. Miranda’s empathy and compassion truly shined through. As well, her strong skill set ensured a safe delivery for my little boy. It is thanks to this Miranda that I truly felt the world-class care I was provided.
