Miranda Johnson 2023, RN

As the ICU team leader of the day, Miranda knew we were about to get a very critical patient from the ER. She signed herself up as the patient's nurse and dove into the situation head-first. For over 7 hours, she used her critical thinking skills in collaboration with the physicians to save this patient's life, never once leaving the bedside. Even with the chaos of a worsening situation, Miranda took the time to comfort family members and keep them up to date on the patient's condition, allowing them to be at the bedside while she worked relentlessly to save the patient. When we were walking out together, I noticed she had only drank 3/4 of her water bottle, a truly selfless nurse. Miranda gives it 110% day in and day out, but this day in particular, she gave 120% and deserves all the recognition for it. While the details of the patient's condition remain private, Miranda's competency and prompt critical thinking skills were the biggest asset to the patient's care. Any patient of Miranda's is blessed to have her as their nurse.
